Throughout last week i completed the dowel joints and created the slated shelf, meaning i was able to put the whole table together. i am now at the final stages and am begining to sand down te entiretyof the table, creating a smooth and polished surface, ready for vanish. hopfully be the end of this next week i will have completed the sanding and decided weather or not i will be routering the surface of my table top.

i have now decided to not router the top of my table and have completed the hazel nut hued stain. I have really liked the rustic, uneven finish that the vanish has created. I have also completed my first layer of varnish. I decided to use a spray gun to cover the table with the varnish. When dry i used a soft sand paper to gently sand off the ruff edges created by the varnish. Hopefully by my next diary entry another coat of varnish will be complete and i will determine whether or not another coat is needed for a shinnier, smoother textured surface.
